Jan Kravets

Jan KravetsJan Kravets has been an active music educator, piano teacher and accompanist for more than twenty five years. Before moving to Southern California in Summer of 2008, Mrs. Kravets had an active piano studio in South Florida, and served as President of the Broward County Music Teachers Association. She held the post of Music Director of the Kuhn Early Childhood Center at Temple Beth Orr in Coral Springs, FL for over ten years until moving to Santa Monica.

Mrs Kravets’ piano studies have included Donn Alexandre Feder (Manhattan School of Music) and German Diez (Assistant to Claudio Arrau). After receiving her Bachelors degree in Piano Performance from the State University of New York at Purchase in 1983, she remained at SUNY Purchase as a staff accompanist in the Opera Studies program. She was appointed to the piano faculty at the Greenwich House Music School in New York City in 1985 and taught there until 1995 when her family moved to Florida.

The mother of two teenage musicians, Mrs. Kravets is pleased to have found a musical home in the Santa Monica music community as both an educator at the Sol-La Academy and as a busy accompanist for the Solo and Ensemble Festivals in the Santa Monica public schools.
