Violinist/Violist Sam Lorenzini, a native of Seal Beach, California, began studying violin at 8 years old in the after school music program at his elementary school. He has been concertmaster and featured soloist with the Musique Sur La Mer Youth Symphony Orchestra both locally and abroad and has performed in numerous international venues, including the Grosser Musikverein-saal, in Vienna, the Mozarteum, in Salzburg, the Sydney Opera House, in Australia, and the Teatro Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica. Samreceived his Bachelor of Music from the Herb Alpert School of Music at the University of California, Los Angeles studying under Margaret Lysy and is completing a Master of Music at the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University Long Beach studying with Henry Gronnier. As a teacher, Sam has been a member of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District’s elementary music team for the past two years working with beginning string students at 8 of the district’s 10 elementary schools. Despite the workload of teaching publicly and privately, he remains an active performer playing regularly in local orchestras and chamber ensembles.
