Andrew Banks

Teaching Artist

English-born pianist Andrew Banks has performed in the United Kingdom, continental Europe and the United States, exploring repertoires for solo piano, two pianos and chamber music. As an accompanist, he frequently collaborates with musicians on a variety of instruments.

Andrew’s love of English music led to his recording of the CD Paradise Gardens (Supertracks) featuring twentieth-century piano pieces by John Ireland, Christopher Headington and William Baines. He has also recorded Kir Kuklowsky: The Complete Piano Works (Crescent Avenue Recordings), a two-disc set of 50 pieces for solo piano by the Polish-Ukrainian composer (1913-99).

A devoted music educator, Andrew maintains a busy teaching studio in Santa Monica. He is highly experienced in preparing students for all levels of Practical and Music Theory exams by the London-based ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), the world’s leading provider of music assessments. Andrew now serves as ABRSM’s Representative for the Southern California region (Los Angeles & San Diego).
