Jasmine Lau

Teaching Artist


Jasmine Lau began studying cello under the tutelage of Irene Sharp at the age of 10. She was a first prize winner of the Music Teacher Association of California’s VOCE competition and was a recipient of the MTAC Award and the Hennings-Fisher Foundation Convention Scholarship. She has participated in numerous masterclasses given by Lynn Harrell, Ralph Kirschbaum, Gil Kalish, Richard O’Neill, Jack Quartet, Axel Strauss, Christopheren Nomura, Irene Sharp, Rohan de Saram, and Wendy Sharp. She has performed for the Smuin Ballet, Junior Bach Festival, LACMA Sundays Live with the renowned UCLA String Faculty, Incontri di Terra di Siena in Montepulciano, Italy and Dilijan Concert Series in both Yerevan Armenia and Los Angeles. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in cello performance and Applied Developmental Psychology and Masters of Music at UCLA, studying with Antonio Lysy. Additionally, she has received her Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from University of Southern California and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
