Teaching Artist

Jessi Gravelle has been conducting children’s choirs and maintaining a busy private flute studio for over 25 years in Santa Monica. She is an alumna of UCLA and CSUN, and is currently teaching flute and conducting choirs with the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District.  She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and the Southern California Vocal Association. Her most recent major choral performance was serving as conductor for the Elemental Music Children’s Choir participation in “Encanto Live at the Hollywood Bowl,” captured in the Disney+ movie of the same name. Jessi also regularly conducts honor choirs at the SMMUSD Stairway of the Stars annual concert. She is a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California as both a flute and piano specialist and teaches her many flute and piano students of all ages at her private music school—the Santa Monica Academy of Music--now serving Santa Monica for its 27th year.

Jessi is pleased to be leading youth choir groups both in the SMMUSD schools and through organizations such as Sol La. She is excited to bring her years of experience and expertise in both flute and choral education to the organization.
