Sam Lorenzini
Teaching Artist
Violinist/Violist Sam Lorenzini, a native of Seal Beach, California, began studying violin at eight years old with Marcy Sudock. Sam received his Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Music Education from UCLA where he studied violin with Margaret Lysy. It was during his time at UCLA that he first began assisting and teaching at SOL-LA Music Academy. Sam then continued his education with a Master of Music degree in violin performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory at CSULB where he studied with Henry Gronnier. In 2019, Sam returned to UCLA to serve as violist for the VEM String Quartet as part of the Armenian music program and completed a second masters degree, in viola performance, studying under Che-Yen Chen. He has remained a dedicated teacher both publicly and privately having taught beginning strings at nine of the ten elementary schools in Santa Monica and Malibu from 2016-2019 as well as violin and viola at SOL-LA. Currently, Sam is the Director of Orchestras at Lincoln Middle School in Santa Monica. Having spent the last decade in the West LA/Santa Monica area, Sam has a deep respect and admiration for the work that SOL-LA has done in promoting high quality music education for all students in the community and is inspired to continue to enrich the musical lives of his students and audiences for years to come.
